I have busted 6-8 lenses over the years of the G models. That’s the main difference. They are WAY more fragile than you think. I still buy them but know that they are breaking if you drop it or smack it on something unless you get lucky. I just dropped a pair of 580G Brine in ATL in a convention center with thin commercial grade carpet over concrete and smashed the left lens. I have also scratched the G lenses many times. They are not as impervious as one may think but they are pretty decent. That’s what brought me here. I am having to order a new pair while I wait for lens replacement from CDM. I was hunting a review of the Jose Pro and came across your vid. Thanks 🤙🏼

Just got my first pair of transition glasses I don't see them getting any darker at all. I tried them in sunlight & holding them in front of an indoor light no change. What gives?!

Thanks for this video, finally someone who confirms what I thought, the same thing happened to me with three frames, I also wrote to the company who gave me totally unconvincing answers, I would have expected a free exchange and instead I was very disappointed , I will no longer buy Lindberg frames, for such high prices they are not worth it. I hope that other frames from this company do not have the same defects.

Sounds as though you are misinformed.. if the lenses are cut by the specifications Lindberg provides, the durability issues you mentioned cease to exist. To tell people, explicitly, “DO NOT BUY THE LINDBERG NOW TITANIUM FRAMES” is robbing people of the opportunity to buy the frames they really want because of issues that really lie in the hands of your optometrist and their expertise. I’m glad I didn’t see this video before buying mine, I’m very happy with them.

I just ordered my son grey transition glasses because he’s super sensitive to light and I was curious what they looked like in action as I’ve never seen transitions in action before and I was curious if they stayed as a grey tint even inside but it doesn’t appear to be the case, again thank you for showing me 😊

Impossible sounds like an opinion as I’ve got some scratches w/580G. . 580p is shatter resistant 580G far superior optics but will indeed crack and scratch with some effort 🤷🏼‍♂️ I will ALWAYS buy 580 G for the quality optics. No comparison in my opinion. Great content & Thnx for posting

I ordered the thinnest lens I could and I asked for a polished edge. They did that however the beveled area is "frosted". Should I have them polish that as well to reduce the white ring I’m seeing ?

The glasses are very comfortable and stylish but the durability is simply not there. I have owned two pairs of Lindbergs and each broke at the bridge after 3 years. For such expensive frames, this is simply not acceptable. The titanium arms are strong, but the composite material holding the lens is highly susceptible to breakage, especially where the frame has been drilled for the nose or arm housing.

Thanks for clearing up the weight difference and showing that the glass lens is twice as heavy. Very impressive & helpful. I have both the 580g & 580p. The 580g is noticeably heavier and falls off my face easier.

i have a pair and noticed fairly quickly the composite frame wears/deforms where the titanium hinge meets it. after a few years i see a crack through the frame now :(

I'm on my third pair of 580G lenses on Corbinas. These things crack very very easily. These sunglasses have cost me 500 bucks +

100% agreed. I have a pair of NOW that i really liked, but within 6month i found a crack at the edge, i.e. the second issue you mentioned. what a shame

My biggest issue with mine 580p is they scratch the reflective screen off very easily

Found the glass $70 less than the poly on amz. Both sold by Amz. Hopefully not counterfeit like my last knife I got on AMZ.

thin is not necessarily better if you doing any blue-collar work. You will want thicker poly carbonate lenses.

Totally agree! I’m on my second pair of NOW and it’s days away I think from a stress break. Shame as they are so light and comfortable! How would you rate ic Berlin in comparison? They’re twice as heavy for starters …

I got grey transition lenses on a new pair of glasses. They barely even change. Did I get robbed? lol.
